Our towels are block printed onto Khadi fabric, a hand-woven and hand-spun fabric that gained popularity in the early 1900s thanks to Mahatma Gandhi. Khadi towels are known for high absorbency, drying fast (ideal for humid climates) and rolling up compactly making them great accessories for travel.
Towels are printed on one side. Due to the nature of hand block printing, dye may be seen on the reverse side, print and color may vary from piece-to-piece, and placement of print may not always be exact as everything is handmade and human error does occur. This enhances the artistic nature of hand block printing.
WHAT IS A MISPRINT?
With hand block printing, minor misprints and defects are bound to happen. Sometimes the color of the fabric doesn't come out right, the dye splashes, we misjudge the length, or the fabric we print on came with a weave defect and we didn't notice. Life happens. But that's exactly what makes block printing so special - each piece is truly unique because it's all made by hand by an artisan in India. Plus, you can grab these happy errors at a major discount!
While our products are already washed after printing to ensure excess color is removed, we highly encourage you to wash your From, Mila pieces after receiving as a precaution. Please wash separately.

What is your return policy?
Returns are accepted within 10 days of receiving your order.
Sale and Misprints are final sale.
Slight hue differentiation or print placement is not considered defective or damaged as that is part of the hand block printing process.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning or exchanging your item(s).

Do you restock your prints?
Sometimes, but rarely. In an effort to have our items feel one-of-a-kind, we print in small batches, and once it has sold out, we move onto the next print. Never say never, but most of the time, we do no restock sold out pieces.
Do you ship worldwide?
At this time, we only ship within the United States.

The Block Printing Process
1. Designing
Whether it's from the creative minds of local artisans in India, or our own, it all starts with a sketch. The prints are drawn out, transferred onto the computer for final tweaks, then printed out to be traced onto a wooden block.
2. Carving
Once the design has been traced, the block is then carved out for printing. Because each block can only print one color at a time, if a print has 5 colors, 5 different blocks need to be made so each color shows up in its correct place when printed.
3. Printing
The most exciting part - seeing the design come to life. Once all the blocks are made, the dyes are mixed, and the printing starts, all by hand, with only rulers or the naked eye used for precision.
After the printing is complete, the fabric is washed, dried outside under the natural sunlight, cut, sewn, and made for you to wear.
