It's hard to believe, but we launched From, Mila seven years ago! Where did the time go? Our tiny business has definitely grown in those seven years and in ways we did not see coming. Let's take a trip down memory lane...

Shot in San Juan Capistrano with Nikki Joiner, our Spring/Summer 2018 collection encapsulated the heat and ease of a long summer day through our flowy silhouettes and vibrant patterns. 

The bandana that started it all

It's pretty safe to say the moment we launched the Havana, our bandanas caused a craze. Faved for their colorful prints and the super soft cotton they were printed on, our customers loved styling them throughout the seasons and years, from around their necks, to in their hair, and sometimes, even as a belt or top!

It's crazy to think about how many prints we've had over the years. Any you wish you grabbed before they ran out?

Expansion into Home

When we first started this as a hobby, we only had scarves. We then expanded into apparel, but we had always dreamed about expanding into home goods. We wanted to bring joy, comfort, warmth, and charm into the home space, and we did just that by launching our Khadi bath and hand towels as well as our luxe velvet blankets!

Dazey LA Collab!

It was our first collaboration, and it was stressful and a bit nerve-racking since we had never done anything like this before. But wow, what an adventure, to work with a fellow woman-owned, small business. The response was unbelievably positive (we sold out faster than expected!) and the three bandana prints came out beautiful.

"Hey Mom, we're in the news!"

One of the biggest highlights: is being featured in the LA Times Holiday Gift Guide and in House Beautiful. I don't even know how to describe the feeling of seeing something you pour so much time, love, and energy into receiving recognition on such a scale. Not so fun story: The LA Times Gift Guide wasn't in any of the Orange County newspapers; we had gone to at least a Barnes & Noble, a grocery store, a gas station, a newspaper stand - nothing! We had to drive to LA and find a place that still sold newspapers, which we finally did at Vroman's. The feeling of opening that paper and seeing our tiny, baby business featured was one of the happiest moments since starting this business. 

TikTok

Turns out, that you guys like bandana tutorials. Waking up to thousands of likes, comments and faves was an absolute whirlwind. We had never received so much exposure and support from so many people from all over, and it was truly one of the most exciting moments of From, Mila. 

Notable Mention: the Jumpsuit. 

This jumpsuit was one of the few times we brought a print back because of how much you guys, our customers, asked for a restock. It was one of our first jumpsuits, and honestly, one of my favorites to this day. Should we bring it back again? Let us know! :)

It's been a wild, incredibly fast seven years since From, Mila launched. We can not believe how many customers we've had, how many of you we have met in person from the various shows we do throughout California, and how many boutiques we sell across the US - it truly is a dream come true, and we could not be more thankful. Cheers to many more years of From, Mila!
