As a minimalist at heart, who loves her whites, grays, blacks, and browns, I try to bring warmth into my studio apartment through colorful textiles. This way, if I am no longer in the mood for a particular color, I can just put it away.
Wood tones and muted colors keep my space calm. And when I'm in the mood to revamp a corner of my home, I pull out statement pieces, like floral-printed bath towels and blankets for a dose of charm.
Nothing permanent. Nothing overwhelming. Just small additions that fit into my peaceful space without overwhelming my eyes. See some inspirational examples below!
1. Luxe block-printed velvet blankets with a reversible print, allowing for versatility
2. Block-printed Khadi towels are an easy way to decorate the bathroom space, especially if the square footage is minimal. You need towels right? Why not opt for printed ones that enhance the space, rather than hotelesque basics with no personality.
This is one of my favorite towels we've done to-date. The red is reminiscent of fall autumn leaves, and effortlessly fits the space, adding just enough color to elevate rather than overwhelm. And it's the perfect shade of red that can transition season to season.
3. Placemats and table napkins are one of the easiest ways to add color because it can also be put away just as easily. It elevates a brunch or dinner and can easily fit into any theme. Once it's cleanup time, they get put away and you can go back to your muted tablescape.
4. Ever since we've started block printing kitchen towels, it's been so fun to match them to the weekly flowers I bring home.
How do you incorporate color into your home?
